Our Policies

Approval Process: To be considered, all candidates must be go through a 4 hour temperament test.  Wo do not accept aggressive or extremely dominant dogs.  All dogs and cats must be current on required vaccinations. Distemper/Parvo, Rabies and Bordetella [kennel cough], a clear fecal (within the past 6 months showing free from parasites) and be using effective flea & tick preventatives. Please have your veterinarian email or fax us your proof of vaccination with a clear fecal prior to scheduling any services.

Probation/Attendance: Pets approved for Daycare are always considered “on probation” since their behavior can change. If their social skills become unsuitable at any time, their daycare privileges can be suspended or their group play area can be adjusted. We do recommend that your pet attend daycare at least 1  - 2 times per week and preferably on the same day/days each week, when possible. Dogs are routine animals; they will actually know when it is “daycare day”. If they miss daycare several times, the introductory process has to be completed all over again, and can become very stressful on your dog; it can be compared to starting kindergarten again and again.  We require a temperament test in each location, to ensure that your pup is comfortable in each different pack and their play groups can change based on pack dynamics.

Hours of Operation: The Daycare runs from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m until 3:00 p.m. All pets (unless boarding overnight) must be picked up by end of business day. Pets who are not picked up before closing will be boarded and will be subject to the additional boarding fees or late pick-up fees ($10 per hour, up to 2 hours after closing).

FOR BOARDING***We do recommend that your dog be dropped off early in the day so they can play all day and eat a good dinner and have a great first night of sleep!

** Flea & Tick Preventative: Since fleas and ticks are easily transmitted from pet to pet, Inn the DogHouse requires owners to treat their pets with a veterinarian-approved flea and tick preventative. In addition, we strongly encourage regular administration of a heartworm preventative due to the highly active nature of our day care.

Dirty Dogs:. Our daycare staff will do their very best to clean up dirty pets before they are picked up by the owners. However, owners should understand that the primary role of our daycare staff is to supervise their pets, and time is not available to provide a thorough bath before sending pets home. If a bath is preferred make an appointment with us at drop off so we can ensure we have your pet clean and fresh for pick-up. We also use a body spray to keep odor down prior to pick-up, if you do not wish this, please let the staff know.  A dirty dog is a dog that had a lot of FUN!

Medication: We are happy to give oral or topical medications to your dog but require the following: all medications must be in their original container and must include your dog’s name, the name and strength of the medication, and directions including dosage, number of times per day, how it is to be given, illness to be treated, areas to be treated, etc.- There is a fee applied for each application of medicines, please call for pricing.

Nametags and Collars: We are a "naked-play" facility.  We do not allow collars of any kind in our playgroups.  Please ensure that you remove all harnesses, leashes and collars before leaving your dog in their play area.  This also incudes flea and tick collars.  WE DO NOT ALLOW dogs in the lobby with a flexi-lead, if you use one, please keep your dog close to your body and NEVER allow dogs to touch noses in the lobby.  We take all sorts of dogs in our facility and many dogs that we take do not enjoy the company of other dogs and can lunge or react poorly.  PLEASE follow this policy for everyone's safety.

Cancellation Policies:. Boarding and Daycare services with less than 24 hours notice will be charged one night/day fee. We require a 50% non refundable deposit when the reservation is made.  We are a no-refund facility and it is important that all clients read their contracts in regards to refunds.  All monies stay in your personal account for future services.

Risks: Owners understand that supervised off-leash socialization and interaction between our guests is encouraged. Owners also acknowledge that dogs are unpredictable in behavior and are aware of the risks involved in such play, and assume all risks. Dogs play with their mouths and feet, scratches and marks are inevitable...In the event of an injury, we will attempt to reach the owner for pick up. If we attempt to reach the owner to no avail, we will reach out to the emergency contact.  If we are unable to reach an emergency contact, we will take your dog to our house veterinarian for treatment.  All costs will be at owner's expense, per our contract.

*As difficult as it may be to believe for many, under the guise of housebreaking and training that domestic dogs wear, they really are wild creatures with their own genetically ingrained patterns of behavior. The habits that they learn with training are superficial at best. To those who have only seen their pets at home or with one or two other dogs in the park, it can be difficult to imagine what could possibly go wrong when they are placed together with many other animals.  Our job is to keep your dog happy, safe, clean and entertained. However, in the blink of an eye, like any type of group play with human or animal, incidents can occur. If this makes you nervous, daycare is not for you.*

Safety Issues: In order to maintain a safe play environment for the dogs, any dog that misbehaves will be given a time-out from the daycare area. If the dog is in time out more than (2) times, the owner will be contacted and the dog will be removed from the daycare immediately and moved to a time out.  Time outs vary with each dog, redirection is always our first step.  Time outs start at 10 minutes and go up from there.  Our pups do not like being removed from their pack and historically, they work very well to prevent undesirable behaviors.. If it is felt that your dog is a risk to other guest or people at anytime, INN the DogHouse reserves the right to refuse service at anytime.

Pick-Up: Owners can arrange to have friends or relatives pick up their dog, but owners must inform our daycare staff in advance before we will allow any other person to take home a pet that is not theirs. Proof of ID must also be shown. Again, pets that are not picked up by 8:00 p.m. will be boarded and will be subject to the additional boarding fees. They can be picked up the next morning at 7:00 a.m.

Boarding: If your dog is destructive when left alone, can open doors/latches or becomes extremely anxious when confined, we ask that you let us know ahead of time, so we can use crate for boarding. Crate’s are a comfort and not a punishment for dogs.

Departure Bath: a bath and blow out is required for dogs boarding with us for three days or more.
